Established in 1901, the Shelter Island Country Club has been a cherished destination for locals and visitors alike. Our name, The 1901 Grill, is a nod to the great history of the clubhouse. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy a delicious meal and create memorable moments.
Owner Jimmy Lang and his family have owned a home on Shelter Island since 1965. His dream of running a restaurant has been alive ever since he was a teenager working at restaurants on the island. When the opportunity presented itself, Jim jumped on the chance to fulfill his lifelong dream. The 1901 Grill will be a place where Shelter Island Country Club members, island residents, and visitors can come for a quality meal and to socialize with family and friends at a reasonable price.
